WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE

I actually came across this on Instagram originally because I follow the main subject and he posted it to his feed (and I’ll specifically shout out his show Good Work - it’s like if the Daily Show was on CNBC). So I stopped to watch this thinking it was just another funny skit video he made before realizing that it was actually made in partnership with Hinge.

THOUGHTS & DID IT WORK?  

Like most people, I’ve been served these “1 vs. X” debate videos a million times on YouTube, and I loved the silliness of this one. I think it’s a very fun and entertaining way of making the same general case that Hinge has been making since they were founded, and I really like that they don’t feel the need to hit you over the head with their message or CTA. In a lot of ways, it’s a perfect campaign for social media because it is sneaky - you don’t realize you’re watching an ad at first, but when you to figure that out you aren’t annoyed at feeling tricked.
